Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre - MSAC The Original!

Hydrautech provided the Aquatic Engineering design of this iconic World-Class facility for the D&C contractor. Hydrautech have been engaged several times over the life of MSAC to design improvements including backwash water recovery and rainwater harvesting.

Oran Park Leisure Centre

Aquatic Centre featuring a 50m Lap Pool with Moveable Boom, Spa Pool and Leisure Pool with Toddlers Pool and Rapid Track "Horizontal Slide" Water Feature inspired by the Oran Park Raceway. The design for this project was recently completed with construction expected to commence later in 2022.
Bundaberg Aquatic Centre
​​A landmark Aquatic Centre for the City of Bundaberg featuring a 50m Lap Pool with Moveable Boom, 25m Lap Pool and Program Pool with Hydro-Zone. Advanced hybrid dual heat pump / gas heater design. The design for this project was recently completed with construction expected to commence later in 2022.

St Albans Leisure Centre

A large Aquatic Centre featuring 50m Lap Pool with SwimWall, Learn-to-Swim Pool, Program Pool, Spa Pool, Leisure Pool with Splash Pad, Water Features and Water Slides. 

Kew Recreation Centre

A challenging engineering design for  new pools constructed on an elevated structure  across a restricted site over a carpark below. 25m Lap Pool, Learn-to-Swim Pool, Program Pool, Spa Pool and Leisure Pool with Splash Pad and Water Features. This project is currently under construction with completion expected in 2023.

YAWA Rosebud Aquatic Centre

A large Aquatic Centre featuring 50m Competition Pool with Moveable Boom, Learn-to-Swim Pool, Program Pool,  Spa Pool, Toddlers Pool and Leisure Pool with Splash Pad and Water Features. A long awaited premier aquatic facility for the Rosebud community.

Maribyrnong Aquatic Leisure Works

A Leisure redevelopment at an existing Aquatic Centre including a large Splash Pad with Water Features and Water Slides. A new standalone treatment plant provided for the new leisure facilities.

Casuarina Aquatic Darwin

Splash Aqua Park Craigieburn

A large Aquatic Centre for a new growth area in the ever expanding suburbs of Melbourne. 50m Lap Pool with Moveable Boom, Program Pool, Spa Pool, combined Leisure and Learn-to-Swim Pool, Toddlers Pool, Splash Pad, Water Features and Water Slides.

Aquanation Ringwood Aquatic Centre

A World-Class facility and one of Victoria's leading Aquatic Centres with 10m diving tower, 75m Competition Pool (split with two Moveable Booms). This competition focussed venue also offers extensive Leisure, Learn-to-Swim, Hydrotherapy, Water Features and Water Slides.

Aquarena Doncaster

A complex project completed over 6 individual stages. Multiple redundancies, change-overs and pre-purchase of water treatment equipment managed for the client. 50m Lap Pool, 25m Lap Pool, Program Pool, Spa Pool, Learn-to-Swim Pool, Toddlers Pool, Splash Pad , Water Features and Water Slides.

Shenzhen Aquatic Centre China

A first for China, Hydrautech provided the design and supervised the installation of a Dive Impactor for the Diving Pool at one of China's premier sporting facilities.

Broadmeadows Leisure Centre

A new 50m Pool with Moveable Boom provided as a part of the redevelopment of this site. A new insert grid type pool floor designed for the existing 25m Lap Pool to provide Learn-to-Swim functionality.

Taurama Sports Centre Papua New Guinea

Hydrautech specified modular pool structures and designed pool water treatment systems that could be successfully constructed in Papua New Guinea. Pools provided with both heating and cooling systems to suit seasonally variable temperatures. Rainfall diversion system provided for outdoor pools.

Gungahlin Leisure Centre Canberra

The Aquatic Engineering design provided by Hydrautech for this project was tailored to achieve a given client budget. 50m Lap Pool with Moveable Boom, combined Leisure and Learn-to-Swim Pool, Toddlers Pool, Splash Pad with Water Features.

Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre

Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre

A new Program Pool for Tasmania's premier aquatic facility in Hobart. Hydrautech has designed a number of upgrades at the centre since 1999.

Ballarat Aquatic Centre

Hydrautech provided the Aquatic Engineering design for the new 50m Lap Pool added to the existing main Aquatic Centre in Ballarat.
​Roll-out base slab reinforcement was implemented for this fast-tracked project.

Bayfit Aquatic Centre Altona

Hydrautech provided the Aquatic Engineering design for the complete redevelopment of the existing Aquatic Centre including a 25m Lap Pool, Leisure Pool and Toddlers Pool.
​An existing pool shell was converted to a rainwater tank with stored water treated and used for pool water supply.

Sheraton Resort Port Douglas 

After 35+ years of successful operation as one of Australia's premier resort destinations, Hydrautech was engaged to design the replacement pool filtration plant for this iconic project featuring Australia's largest resort pools at over 20 million litres of water.

Emirates 6 Star Resort

Hydrautech provided the complete Aquatic Engineering design for this high  end luxury resort - Australia's first 6-Star experience.
Each of the forty villas has its own private pool.
​The main resort features a magnificent elevated edge Infinity Pool.

Ritz-Carlton Melbourne

Melbourne's own Ritz-Carlton Hotel at the west end of Melbourne's CBD. Delivered as a part of the West Side Place development, Hydrautech designed the pool water treatment plants featuring ceramic membrane filtration technology in response to the project brief for the "best pool water quality in the world".

Upper West Side

The largest residential development in Australia (at the time of design). Featuring over 2,500 apartments, Hydrautech provided the pool water treatment design for all of the pools provided for this extensive development.

Wetside Splash Park 

Hydrautech was engaged to design the replacement of an existing Wave Rider (left) with a new interactive Splash Pad  (right) featuring "ninja warrior" style obstacles with tipping buckets and perimeter cannons to challenge the most capable ninja!

Eildon Splash Park

A new Splash Pad for Eildon. This project is currently in the design phase.

Mildura Riverfront Waterplay

An expansive water play precinct stretching along the Murray River in Mildura. Many project specific design considerations for this unsupervised public space. Hydrautech provided the pool water treatment and water feature design for this impressive regional project.

NGV Water Wall

Designed by Hydrautech in conjunction with the CSIRO and installing D&C contractor, the NGV water wall was completely rebuilt with a new treatment plant as a part of a major redevelopment of this famous Melbourne landmark.

South East Water Reflection Pool

Seems appropriate - a water feature for a water authority. Ionisation treatment was implemented for this project to provide an odour free water space adjacent to workplace offices.

Melbourne Zoo Water Maze

Franklin Square Hobart

Hydrautech was engaged by Hobart City Council to design a sensitive redevelopment of their landmark water fountain in Franklin Square Hobart. 

Melbourne Museum

Designed by Hydrautech in conjunction with the installing D&C contractor, water features (one with eels!) were created as a part of the Melbourne Museum development in Melbourne's famous Carlton Gardens, adjacent to the Melbourne Exhibition Buildings.

Wellness and Spa Facilities

Hydrautech has provided the Aquatic Engineering design for World Class Wellness and Spa facilities; from Ritz Carlton Hotels to RACV resorts to the famous Hepburn Springs Bathhouse.

St. John of God Richmond

Commencing construction in 2022, Hydrautech provided the Aquatic Engineering design for a new Wellness Pool as a part of a redevelopment of the existing Hospital in Richmond New South Wales.

Glenallen School

Ritz-Carlton Melbourne

Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium Upgrade Works

It's not easy to move a large shark - another project for Hydrautech. As a part of refurbishment work that required draining the main aquarium, Hydrautech provided the design to allow the existing Life Support Systems to remain operational during this sensitive project.

Horse Training Pools

Hydrautech has provided the Aquatic Engineering for Horse Pools at Hobart, Geelong, Caulfield and Flemington for the D&C contractor.

Taronga Zoo Precincts

Hydrautech has provided unique designs from Platypus Pools to natural water courses for several precincts  at Taronga Zoo.

Melbourne Zoo Precincts

A specific Elephant friendly pool was provided as a part of a new large exhibit for the Elephants at Melbourne Zoo.

Healesville Sanctuary

From replacing a wave machine in Mildura to moving a pool plantroom to make way for a new gym in Swan Hill, Hydrautech has assisted many aquatic facilities to maintain their assets, develop their sites and improve efficiency.

Heat Recovery and Geothermal

Hydrautech was engaged to design a replacement pool water treatment plant for the Portland Leisure and Aquatic Centre in Western Victoria. ​This commission involved the redesign and recommissioning of an existing  geothermal water supply used for heating of the entire facility.

High Functioning Pools

Hydrautech has designed some of the most advanced features in swimming pools including Moveable Booms, Moveable Floors, Reduced Depth Fixed Floors, SwimWalls, Tilt-Up Walls, Timing Systems, Underwater Lighting, Scoreboards and Photography.

A World First! Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre

Hydrautech provided the design for the heating upgrade works at this unique project. Heating is provided by two independent systems; water-to-water heat pumps and gas-fired boilers. The source water for the heat pumps is treated effluent from the nearby sewage treatment plant - yes seriously and it works brilliantly!
